Krewe of Iduna Presents 2025 Carnival Ball

(Baton Rouge, LA) - The ladies of Krewe of Iduna flew out for a wizardly good time for the 64th annual Mardi Gras Ball on February 8th at the Raising Cane’s River Center Exhibition Hall.

Ball Captain Mrs. Britney Ford presided over the events, which took the theme “Mischief Managed.” Ms. Ford represented the Minister of Magic. Also reigning over the festivities were King Bragi LXIV Mr. Todd Michael Lindrew and Queen Iduna LXIV Miss Elizabeth Lee White. Attending the Court was Lady-in-Waiting Aria Claire Ford. Attending the queen were Pages Evangelia Mercurio, Milena Mercurio, and Lexie Shaughnessy. Esquire to the Court was Jackson Ory Meyer. Attending the king were Pages Jude Paul, Dominic Mercurio, and Joseph William Koenig, IV.

The maids were presented to members and guests, representing various pieces of the Horcruxes. Amelia Anne Young represented Tom Riddle’s Diary. Her father, Jeff Young, served as her duke and escort. Kelsey Autumn Williams represents Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring. Her father, Kirk Williams, served as her duke and escort. Estelle Elis Leboeuf represented Salazar Slytherin’s Locket. Zachary West, served as her duke and escort. Susanna Lee Shields represented Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem. Her father, Roby Shields, served as her duke and escort. Josephine Lorraine Walsh represented Helga Hufflepuff’s Goblet. Her father, Scot Walsh served as her duke and escort. Grace Emma Looper represented the snake, Nagini. Her father, Eric Granrud served as her duke and escort.

Master of Ceremonies Larry Rosendahl presented the magical tableau along with the performances by the members of the Krewe. Krewe dance groups entertained the crowd with fabulous choreography by Powell Moise School of Dance. Ladies 1 performed to “School’s Out for Summer” and Ladies II danced to “Maneater”. Couples of the Krewe danced to “Dance the Night Away”. 

Costumes for the Ball Captain and Royal Court were designed by Krewe member and previous Ball Captain (2005) Camilla Ford of Gabriella Rothschilds. Costume execution was by D&D Creations of Kenner, LA. Royal Crown Design and Execution was done by Camilla Ford of Gabriella Rothschilds. Following the Tableau, Karma from New Orleans entertained the Krewe and guests with live music ranging from pop, oldies, blues, funk and soul.
